Absence of Pupils due to Illness
If your child is absent from school please notify us by phone before 9.15am. Unexplained absences are followed up. Children who have had diarrhoea and/or vomiting should not attend school for 48 hours from the last episode. (Guidance from Health Protection Agency).
Allergies
If your child has any type of allergy it is important that the school is informed as soon as possible. Where appropriate the school can keep medicines in school in case your child has an allergic reaction. Staff receive annual training in the use of Epipens and the care of children with asthma and epilepsy.
Specific areas that need to be considered are:
- the fruit and vegetable snacks available every day to all children
- Hot school meals - if your child has any special dietary requirements these MUST be discussed with our supplier and a suitable diet agreed BEFORE you order any meals for your child.
