Music
At Fairway, our music curriculum encourages children to explore their individuality and encourages them to express themselves and use their voices and bodies creatively and confidently. The children progressively explore pulse, rhythm and pitch as well as improvising, composing and performing. We follow the Charanga scheme which exposes children to a diverse and inspiring range of musical styles and songs and encourages them to listen carefully for specific elements and appraise the music they hear. The gain experience in playing both untuned and tuned instruments (glockenspiel) and begin to understand musical notation.
