School Business Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a forward-thinking and enthusiastic School Business Manager to join our friendly little school. We are a two-form entry, oversubscribed infant school at the heart of Copthorne Village and can offer you a new and exciting challenge in our happy school within our genuinely supportive team.

As School Business Manager you will play a pivotal role in our leadership team. You will take lead responsibility for finance, health and safety compliance and human resources as well as leading our office administrative team and overseeing the work of our premises officer.

 

Job Details

Salary: Grade 9, points 25-28, £33,945 to £36,648 (pro rata)

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full or part time (minimum 3 days) will be considered (term time plus 2 weeks in school holidays)

Location: Fairway Infant School, Copthorne, West Sussex

What You Need to Succeed

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • Excellent administrative skills and previous financial experience
  • Competence in budgeting, accounts management, reporting and staff pay
  • An ability to work in a busy environment, meet deadlines and use own initiative
  • Relevant IT skills supportive of the wide range of the role
  • A friendly, open and positive disposition
  • Wide ranging organisational and people skills including efficiency, flexibility and confidentiality
  • Experience of working in a school environment (desirable but not essential)

We are a two-form entry, oversubscribed infant school at the heart of Copthorne Village and can offer you a new and exciting challenge in our happy school within our genuinely supportive team.

This post will involve working in class as a teaching assistant for some of the time and will also include providing cover for teacher’s release time and in the event of teacher absence.

Salary: Grade 8 SCP 20-24, £24,228- £26,320

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 5 days a week, term time only, plus INSET days as specified by the school

Hours: 32.5 per week, 8.30-3.30pm

What You Need to Succeed

 

To be successful in this role you will need to:

  • The ability to build excellent relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
  • Experience of teaching whole classes in EYFS and Key Stage 1
  • High levels of enthusiasm, flexibility and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A First Aid qualification or willingness to be trained
  • HLTA Qualification or equivalent
