Fairway Infant School

P.E

At Fairway Infant School, we intend to develop children who are physically literate and have the motivation, passion, knowledge, skills and confidence to keep themselves happy, healthy and regularly participating in physical activity as they go through their school days and beyond.

Our progressive and sequential PE curriculum aims to challenge, inspire and support pupils to gain key skills and excel in a wide variety of sports, physical activities and exercise. We follow the Jasmine Real PE, Real Dance and Real Gym schemes which progressively map the skills children are taught and offer support and challenge for all.

As part of our commitment to developing the whole child, we firmly believe that our children, in the earliest years of their education, should have opportunities to explore their interests and to be exposed to and given opportunities to try new activities. We work closely with Mid-Sussex Active and offer multiple, and varied, opportunities throughout the year for children to participate in inter-school competitions, sporting festivals and events with the intention of developing skills and confidence to participate in new activities, perform to an audience, develop teamwork skills through working with children from other local schools and to promote inclusion and a sense of achievement and pride for all.
